Since 2004, Air Jordan and Doernbecher Children’s Charity Hospital have been working together for 20 years, to celebrate this historic moment, the two sides released the “Doernbecher Freestyle 20” series at the end of last year.
Supporting Doernbecher Freestyle not only celebrates creativity, it makes a real difference. It provides vital funding for a cause worthy of support, while also demonstrating the incredible resilience and imagination of young patients.
The shoes were designed by designer Jillian Beagley and are inspired by the “Mandarin duck” style of her basketball career. The white lychee leather upper is asymmetrical in design, and the contrasting base of mint green and cherry blossom powder is gorgeous like a palette. The Velcro on the collar can be freely replaced with a personalized embroidered badge. The head of the shoe is embroidered with a “Give life” public welfare declaration, and the pink Flying Man logo on the back is a fun contrast with the words “real gold”, reflecting Jillian’s life creed of “true to yourself is real gold”.
Air Jordan 6 “Doernbecher “is the standout in the 2024 series. The entire design features heart-shaped perforations that symbolize warmth and care. Customizable Velcro gives the wearer freedom of choice, making each pair unique. The shoes also feature a bold metallic gold trim. The color scheme is a blend of sail colors, pink and green tones, which is gentle and bold.
The metal melting process runs through the LACES lock, LACES cover and heel mark, the left shoe inner midsole is engraved with “movement is joy”, and the corresponding position of the right cheap jordans shoes is engraved with “this is the true me”. With ice blue gradient crystal outsole, the resilient vitality of the designer for young patients is turned into a wearable artistic statement.
The upper is stitched with laser graphics to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the collection and celebrate the participation of 122 small patient designers. Twenty pairs of numbered Air Jordan XX “Doernbecher Freestyle” sneakers will be auctioned at Sotheby’s, with all proceeds donated to Doernbecher.
